Biden did his typical old man thing and got angry and agitated when asked a less than favorable question on Tuesday, walking toward a reporter and snapping when asked for his response to a recent poll showing that most Democrats don’t want him to seek re-election in 2024.
The awkward encounter began when the reporter, trying to get his attention, shouted “Mr. President, what’s your message to Democrats who don’t want you to run again?”
That’s not at all an unfair question, particularly given that the poll holds some bad news for Brandon and he should probably have something to say to try and win over the Democrats that don’t want him running again.
But, of course, that would have been too much to expect of Brandon. So instead he walked on over to the reporter and used his favorite line of calling the reporter “Jack”, angrily snapping:
“Read the polls, Jack, you guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats, if I ran, would vote for me.”
But that’s not what the reporter asked. Presumably, most Democrats would vote for Biden over the bad orange man given how hostile they are to the bad orange man and the bad orange things he did while in office. That’s not in doubt.
What’s in doubt is what the reporter actually asked about, which is that the poll showed many Democrats don’t want him to run again, even if they’d vote for him as president if he did.
And so the reporter reiterated his main point, which is that the poll showed about 2/3 of Democrats don’t want him to run again.
Biden, either not grasping the finer point being made or just not wanting to deal with it, responded by reiterating that 92 percent of Democrats would vote for him if he was the nominee, saying “But 92% said if I did [run], they’d vote for me.”
